THE HANDICRAFTS AND EMPLOYMENT PROJECTS
Tourism is affected by the economic factors as it is affected by the social and environmental factor. That the years after 2000 are the years of cultural tourism is to devote to the fact that it is the culture, music, handicrafts of the visited countries which make this countries unforgettable. The beauties remaining from the unforgettable moments, the souvenirs and giftwares remind people of many nice things. We have such handicrafts that the nations all around the world have been admiring for centuries, which are to be thought as forgotten due to the development of technology. But the presentation of these handicrafts with artistic value in the sector, stemming from our traditions, make us proud and are a means of income for the people interested in the field. Our actions to create employment, educating unemployed and needy people to make them producers in the field of handicrafts and bring in the sector producers of souvenirs and giftwares, are going on.
While giving importance to the scientific side of the issue, the Tourism Development Foundation aims to give to these handicrafts, being devoid of certain features, their deserved importance as was in the past and organizes courses with the collaboration of municipalities, districts and folk education centers in the technical field.
We go on to remember and perpetuate our society, culture and handicrafts on the verge of being forgotten.

Within the context of these projects, valuable jewelry out of oltu, quars, cornelian, silver, filigree, turquoise, mother of pearl, pearl, etc. are being produced.
